Description

The modernization and upgrading for 5 MW project of IEA-R1 reactor aim to radioisotope production mainly 99 Mo. In this work it is shown the 99 Mo production perspective with the reactor operating at 5 MW during 5 days. An experiment has been organized and performed with Mo O3 samples irradiated in a beryllium flux-trap. The calculated activities were compared to the experiment values showing good agreement. The neutron fluxes in the sample positions were determined by CITATION code with four energy groups and three-dimensional geometry. (author). 5 refs., 2 figs., 7 tabs
