L-shell alignment of rare earths atoms induced by 12C, 16O and 19F ion impact

Description
The alignment parameter A 2 of the L3 sub-shell of Ce, Nd, Eu, Dy and Yb has been determined by measuring the anisotropic emission of the L l X-ray line induced by 12C, 16O and 19F ion impact at bombardment energies between 9 MeV and 12 MeV. Experimental results are compared with theoretical predictions based in the PWBA, ECPSSR-UA and ECPSSR-IS pictures. The results showed agreement among experiments and theories
