Description

The possibility has been studied to use multiwire proportional chambers for qualitative and quantitative analysis of radiochromatograms. It is shown that a proportional chamber, being a highly effective detector of γ radiation, can be successfully used for fast three-dimensional analysis of radiochromatogram with a sufficient accuracy (no less than +- 10% for 14C and 32P). The detector sensitivity is limited with self-noises of the chamber and corresponds to 10-3 1/sxmm2. This value shows that it is possible to record chromatographic zones labelled with 14C and 32P with a minimum activity of 104-105 nCi/mm2. The preliminary results of spatial localization of the chromatographic zones labelled with 3H, 14C, 32P isotops are given as well as the analysis results of the activity of the zones labelled with 14C and 32P
