An Effelsberg/VLA radio continuum survey of an optically selected sample of edge-on spiral galaxies

Description
We give the results of an extensive radio continuum survey at ∼ 5 GHz with the 100 m Effelsberg telescope and the Very Large Array of a large sample of edge-on spiral galaxies (181 galaxies). The aim of this survey was to find candidates for more extensive studies on radio halos and on outflow phenomena from the nuclei of these galaxies
