(n,α) reaction on 171Yb, 177Hf apd 151Eu deformed nuclei
Description
The results are presented on repeat investigation of (n, α) reaction on 171Yb, 177Hf and 151Eu deformed nuclei. The study was carried out by the time-of-flight method on the neutron beam from the IBR-30 pulsed reactor using an improved, as compared with the first measurements, installation. The purpose was to clarify the disagreement of experimental α-particle strength functions with their theoretical values. The obtained values of average α-widths < GITAsub(α) > sub(Jsup(π)=1sup(-))sup(exp)=31+-9 neV for 171Yb and < GITAsub(α) > sub(Jsup(π)=3sup(-))sup(exp)=5.8+-2.6 neV < GITAsub(α) > sub(Jsup(π)=4sup(-))sup(exp)=1.6+-0.6 neV for 177Hf are in agreement with those calculated in the frame of the cluster model of α-decay < GITAsub(α) > sup(KM). The good agreement of calculated and experimental values of α-particle strength functions for 171Yb and 177Hf confirms the possibility to use the ''black'' nucleus model for the description of interaction of α-particles with heavy deformed nuclei
