Fukushima. One year on: Industry responses
Creators
Description
On March 11, 2011 a massive tsunami flooded the Fukushima Daiichi site at the east coast of the Japanese main island of Honshu. On the first anniversary of the accident leading figures from the nuclear industry gave their reflections on the impact of the accident and the steps they had already taken to address issues the accident had raised. They also offered their views on the future of nuclear energy and its essential role in meeting future energy needs. The World Nuclear Association - WNA has summarised these responses. Six statements show responses by the nuclear industry: - Michel Hubert Jamard, Areva; - Frank Yee, Candu Energy; - Caroline Reda, GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH); - Jong-Shin Kim, Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power Co. (KHNP); - Vyacheslav Pershukov, Rosatom; - Aris Candris, Westinghouse Electric Company. (orig.)
