Description

For the construction of nuclear power stations, comprehensive site investigations are required to assure the adequacy and suitability of the site under consideration. The site investigations cover mainly the following matters: 1) hydrology; 2) geology; 3) seismology; 4) meteorology. Site investigations for nuclear power stations are carried out in stages in increasing detail and to an appreciable depth in order to assure the soundness of the project, and, in particular, to determine all measures required to assure the safety of the nuclear power station and the protection of the population against radiation exposure. Abstract (German)

Vor der Errichtung eines Kernkraftwerks sind umfangreiche Standortuntersuchungen erforderlich, um festzustellen, ob der vorgesehene Standort dafuer geeignet ist. Dazu gehoeren vor allem die folgenden Untersuchungsgebiete: 1) Hydrologie; 2) Geologie; 3) Seismologie; 4) Meteorologie. Standortunersuchungen werden stufenweise, mit wachsender Detailgenauigkeit, durchgefuehrt, um die Realisierbarkeit des Projekts zu gewaehrleisten und um alle erforderlichen Massnahmen festzustellen, die ergriffen werden muessen, um die Sicherheit des Kernkraftwerks zu garantieren und die Bevoelkerung vor Strahlenschaeden zu schuetzen.
