Windows driver model based precise timing program and its applications in nuclear measurement

Description
The methods of precise timing program based on windows driver model in windows 2000 were presented. The examples of windows driver model and Win 32 application program were given in this paper. The timer accuracy was compared for multimedia timer, waitable timer, device one second timer of windows driver model and KTimedCallback timer. The results show that KTimedCallback timer has the most accurate among the four timers, which one-second timing uncertain is about 0.57 μs. The precise timing programs were used in water volume fraction in petroleum measurement by gamma ray and the effect of timing error was eliminated. (authors)
