On the hydrogenation mechanism of titanium alloys during electrochemical dimensional machining
Description
The results of variation of extraction rate of molecular hydrogen and degree of hydrogen absorption of titanium surface layer and its certain alloys at their anode dissolution in chloride solutions and chloride-nitrate mixtures in the region of high current densities are described. Extraction of molecular hydrogen and hydrogen absorption of surface layer are shown to be concurring processes. Mechanism of hydrogen absorption of titanium alloys under electrochemical dimensional treatment (ECDT) based on the assumption of presence of electrochemical reduction of hydroxonium ion at retardation of withdraw stage of adsorbed hydrogen (due to retardation of recombination or electrochemical desorption) is suggested
