Miorostructure of sintered allOys on the base of SmCo5 compound after tempering at 700 deg C

  • 1. Moskovskij Inst. Stali i Splavov (USSR)

Description

Data on fine structure of sintered alloys on the base of SmCo5 with increased as compared with the stoichiometric cobalt content after tempering at 700 deg C are given. It is shown that in the alloy with excessive cobalt content about 2% (per mass) as a result of solid solution decomposition in the tempering process by 700 deg C by the continuous monophase mechanism a cellular structure is formed. Cells of the SmCo5 phase with average dimension 500-100 deg A are separated by the Sm2Co17 interlayers having pyramidal habit. In the alloy with excessive cobalt content approximately 0.6% (per mass) solid solution decomposition in the tempering process at 700 deg C proceeds by the interrupted two-phase mechanism leading to formation of a periodic heterogeneous structure
