Superconducting characteristics of metal mixed Bi-Pb-Sr-Ca-Cu-O composites
Description
Gold powder was mixed with a Bi-Pb-Sr-Ca-Cu-O superconductor for the purpose of increasing the critical current density, Jc. Gold did not react with the oxides and uniformly dispersed in the Bi-Pb-Sr-Ca-Cu-O system. The Tczero for the Bi-Pb-Sr-Ca-Cu-O sample without Au addition, which is denoted as a standard, and the Au 15 wt% mixed Bi-Pb-Sr-Ca-Cu-O composite was almost the same at 107 K. Obvious diamagnetic signal was observed both for the standard and the composite. This means that the superconducting phase exists in bulk. A maximum Jc of 361.7 A/cm2 was obtained for the composite with Au 15 wt%, which is approximately twice as high as that for the standard
