Production of gluino-gluino bound states at hadron colliders
Description
Large-p/sub T/ jet production in hadronic collisions at very high energies will be dominated by gluon-gluon scattering. Gluinos, the fermionic partners of the gluons predicted by supersymmetry, can bind into bound states which strongly couple to the two-gluon channel. Such bound states can be resonantly produced in gluon-gluon elastic scattering which could be detected in two-jet events by searching for a resonance peak in the two-jet invariant mass. The signal-to-background ratio is estimated to be greater than 1%, allowing for the discovery of such states with masses below 1 TeV at the SSC operating at √ = 40 TeV with an integrated luminosity of 1040 cm-2
