Polarized gamma beam intensity modulator
Description
The design of an intensity modulator for shaping the Moessbauer isotope 57Fe pulsed gamma beams with pulse rise time up to 10-9 s is described. The modulator consists of a resonance filter, enriched with 57Fe, and control device, which comprises shrip line, Helmholtz coils and generator of magnetization reversing pulses. To increase the modulator fast-response the resonance filter is made of the 57FeBO3 crystal, possessing a low inertia of magnetization direction change. Energy consumption for placing the considered modulator in operation is one order lower than those for similar devices
