Description
Results are presented of a bubble chamber study of K-NN interactions at rest in liquid helium leading to the Λ(Σ0)dn final state. Monte Carlo calculations show that the experimental results can be well described by an impulse model in which the K--meson interacts with two nucleons and the final-state deuteron acts as a spectator. The branching ratio for this process is estimated to be R(K-+4He→Λ+d+n/K-+4He→all) = 0.035+-0.002. Also three events were found compatible with the reaction K-+4He→Λ+3H leading to an estimate for the branching ratio R(K-+4He→Λ+3H/K-+4He→all) = 0.0003+-0.0002. (author)
