On the bremsstrahlung generation in targets placed in a magnetic field
Description
Bremsstrahlung generation in targets placed in magnetic field formed by linear conductor with current, as well as optimal parameters of the improved target are investigated using both calculation and experimental techniques. Thin target placed in azimuthal magnetic field formed by conductor with current is shown to be effective source of bremsstrahlung which enables to increase radiation yield twice within 10-100 keV range. Necessity to optimize accelerator-target system concerning bremsstrahlung yield depending on current in the central conductor is pointed out. Numerical model of beam transport in azimuthal magnetic field and its interaction with target for qualitative comparison with experiment is developed. Comparison has indicated adequate agreement between calculation and experiment. Recorded increase in slope of X-ray pulse front from target is explained by dynamics of electron injection in the drift regular range
