This article provides a condensation and excerpts from the report Safely Assessment of Unit 5 (WWER-4401 W-213) of the Greifswald Nuclear Power Station, a Common German-Soviet Report from Gesellschaft fur Reaktorsicherheit (GRS) mbH and Kurchatov-Institute for Nuclear Energy, OKB Gidropress and Atom-energoprojekt (188 pages), February 1992, which is itself an extensive review of reports summarizing safety assessments of this plant. Because the subject report is itself a condensation of extensive analyses, much of this review consists of selected direct quotes from the report to minimize introducing inadvenent bias into this book summary
