Autocorrelation analysis of quasar absorption spectra. Autocorrelation function initial parts
Description
The paper deals with the autocorrelation functions (ACF) of 37 QSO absorption spectra with the number of lines M > 20. The study revealed that there are specific correlation maxima at the initial parts of the majority of ACF. These maxima match the ratio of the wavelengths of the CIV, NV, AlIII doublets. The statistical analysis was made to confirm the reality of the obtained results. Some hypothesis which could help to explain this fact were discussed
