Dynamics of positive ions in front of a planar floating wall
Description
The spatial profiles of macroscopic forces acting on a single ion and of transport quantities from an infinite fluid model of a sheath between atomic cold gas plasma and a floating planar wall are reported in dependence on parameters A, C of ion neutral and ionization frequencies normalized to plasma frequency. It is shown that at A > or ∼ 1, C < or ∼ 0.01 the ion motion is controlled by a local electric field practically over the whole sheath. (author). 5 figs., 4 tabs., 15 refs
