Azimuthal electric fields in toroidal transport

Description
The role of azimuthal electric fields in toroidal transport is studied. A consistent kinetic theory for the collision-dominated regime is given and compared with a fluid calculation. The weakly collisional and intermediate regimes are also discussed.
