Mechanical properties: Part 3: Normal mechanical properties of titanium-niobium alloys and composite conductors
Description
Strain heating in a Cu/Ti-Nb composite is discussed. The three classes of deformation available to two-component composites are listed: both components may deform elastically; one component may deform plastically while the other remains elastic; and both components may deform plastically. Strengths of titanium-niobium-base multicomponent alloys, ternary and quaternary, are discussed. Determination of the tensile properties of composites are examined and the strengthening of alloys is discussed. The influence of temperature and of solute additions on the workability of Ti-Nb alloys are reviewed
