Neon liquefier refrigerator

Description

A neon liquefier-cooler, which may be used for cooling large superconducting magnet systems and in construction of autonomous high-capacity adsorption-condenser pumps operating at atmospheric pressure, is described. An important advantage of neon over other coolants (helium, hydrogen) is its high latent heat of vaporization. In the liquefier-cooler a cooling cycle with a throttle is used. Cooling of vapors of the volatilized liquid in separate branches is used both in the lower and upper heat exchangers, which ensures a high cooling capacity that may reach 360 W. In operation in the liquefying regime, the coefficient of liquefaction is 30%. The starting process is described in detail. Operating characteristics of the apparatus are given
