Multielement neutron activation analysis of olivine and dark component of Krymka meteorite

Description

Using the microscope for a 0.1-0.2 mm crushed specimen of the Krymka meteorite, transparent olivine and dark grains of the matrix mainly were selected. The distribution of 33 elements in these samples was studied by the neutron activation analysis. It is shown that the olivine and matrix composition strongly differs from the total meteorite composition. The matrix is enriched by some siderophile and volatile elements. Olivine is depleted of all the elements, except for In and Zn. The distribution of rare earths in olivine follows the fractional pattern with positive Eu- and negative Yb-anomalies
