Description
A national experience will radio synovectomy in patients with hemophilia is presented. Twenty-five radiosynoviorthesis procedures were conducted with rhenium-188 in 18 patients, 17 with hemophilia type A and one of type B, ages between 6 and 29 years, with a mean of 14.8 years. During a follow-up period of 6 months, only 3 patients had hemarthrosis of the treated joint and all patients reduced the frequency of bleeding. We conclude that radio synovectomy with 188Re is a safe and effective procedure when performed by an interdisciplinary team trained in managing patients with hemophilia
