Influence of melt cooling rate heat treatment and deformation on structure of chromium base alloys
Description
Structures, hardened by zirconium carbide finely divided precipitations and by coplex zirconium and chromium borides, are obtained in fast-cooled low-doped chromium alloys of Cr-Zr-B, Cr-Zr-C, Cr-Zr-B-C systems. Deudritic structure of castings is abruptly refined and is substituted for subdeundritic one (less, than 1 μm). Annealing of fast-cooled alloys at temperatures up to 1400 deg C does not increase either grain size or dimentions of excess phase particles in castings. Drawn grains with up to 2 mm length at up to 30 μm diameter are formed in rods pressed from fast-cooled flakes at annealing under 1400 deg C during 10hours; dimension of disperse hardening particles is not more, than 0.16 μm. High dispersity and thermal stability of hardening phases alongside with large drawn recrystallized grain allows to consider the investigated systems as a perspective base for formation of heat-resistant alloys
