Comparison of liquid scintillators

Description

Three scintillators, Instagel, Instagel II, both from Packard, and the Lumagel from Lumac, have been examined for the following properties: (1) zero effect, (2) counting efficiency, (3) sensitivity, to light, (4) decay of chemoluminescence. The results show that the Lumagel is superior over the other two devices with respect to points 1, 3, 4, and is cheaper than the Instagel devices. (orig./HP)

Abstract (German)

Drei Szintillatoren, Instagel, Instagel II, beide von der Fa. Packard und Lumagel von der Fa. Lumac wurden auf 1. Nulleffekt, 2. Zaehlausbeute, 3. Lichtempfindlichkeit, 4. Abklingverhalten von Chemolumineszenz geprueft. Es zeigte sich, dass Lumagel in den Punkten 1), 3) und 4) Nulleffekt, Lichtempfindlichkeit und Chemolumineszenz besser ist als die beiden anderen Szintillatoren. Es liegt auch im Preis tiefer als Instagel. (orig./HP)
