Installation and alignment of KEKB magnets

Description

KEKB is an asymmetric-energy two ring collider(1) built to do experiments on CP violation in B particle decays(2). The KEKB ring was constructed in the pre-existing TRISTAN tunnel. The construction was started in January 1996, and completed in November 1998. For alignment of the magnets, laser trackers were used in the arc sections, and the stretched wire method was adopted in the straight sections. Installation and alignment of the magnets have been carried out successfully. (author)
