Description
The present invention concerns a reactor containment facility for a BWR type reactor and it provides a method of reliably processing hydrogen and steams generated in great amount upon severe accident by means of a simple means. That is, since there is no requirement for processing exhaust gases from a turbine condensator upon severe accident, a gaseous waste processing facility is at rest. In this case, gases in the reactor container are released by way of discharging pipeline systems to the gaseous waste processing facility, by which hydrogen is re-combined by an exhaust gas recombiner of the facility and steams are condensated by an exhaust gas condensator. Further, radioactive materials such as rare gases are decayed and eliminated by a rare gas hold-up device. In this case, if a predetermined amount of oxygen is supplied from an air supply device, re-combination of hydrogen and oxygen in the re-combiner can be promoted. With such a constitution, since the gases in the reactor container can be released, increase of the pressure in the reactor container can be suppressed to maintain the integrity of the reactor container.
