Migration of selected radionuclides in the food chain. I

  • 1. Ustav Radioekologie a Vyuzitia Jadrovej Techniky, Kosice (Czechoslovakia)

Description

The behavlour of radionuclides in soils and their transfer into plants is affected mainly by the soil type, the content of organic matter, the share of the loam fraction, the biological properties of plants and the method of soil tillage. Attention is devoted mainly to the transfer factors in the soil-plant system for important agricultural plants. A calculation of radionuclide concentrations in the plant is given on the basis of a descriptive mathematical model for extreme values of transfer coefficients. The importance of the individual parameters of the model is discussed. (author)
