Description
The magnetic behaviour of a Gd4Co3 ferrimagnetic compound was studied through magnetic and electrical resistivity measurements in polycrystalline samples. Magnetic measurements results reveal, for the first time in this compound, the existence of a spin reorientation transition at a temperature of 163 K, resembling that found in pure Gd. The effects of the spin reorientation process were also detected in the temperature dependence of the electrical resistivity and, more clearly, in its temperature derivative
