Tellurium refining by zone melting and vacuum sublimation

Description

A tellurium refining technique by means of zone melting combined with impurity sublimation is presented. For this purpose an ampule divided into two sections with a barrier is used. In one section tellurium is refined by zone melting. Another section is not heated during refining and used for the condensation of impurities being sublimated. The ampule is deep evacuated. To estimate a refinement degree used is the formula including thermo-emf and impurity concentration
