Influence of the nuclear structure on the fast nucleon bremsstrahlung spectra

Description
It is shown that the bremsstrahlung cross sections for fast protons and neutrons with emissions of quanta of energies having the order of magnitude of the dipole and quadrupole giant resonance energies have close values and are determined by the real and virtual excitations of the target nucleus. The calculations have been performed for the incident nucleon energy of 1 GeV. Calculation of cross section of 1 GeV neutron and proton bremsstrahlung on a 40Ca nucleus is a confirmation of the given assessments. The nuclear response has been determined in approximation of random phases with Skyrme forces
