This book is devoted to theoretical nonlinear spectroscopy of atomic and molecular gases with the special emphasis being placed on the analysis of dynamic and stochastic kinetic processes. The entire presentation is based on quantum kinetic equation for one particle density matrix with generalized collision integral of the Boltzmann type. Consistent sequential analysis of spectroscopic, optical and gas kinetics phenomena is universally believed to be possible only on the basis of this equation. Apparatus of quantum kinetic equation has been significantly developed over the last two decades in connection with problems of nonlinear spectroscopy and gas kinetics in the field of laser radiation. refs.; figs.; tabs
