Monitoring of radioactive gases in air by adsorption

Creators

Description

A method is described to measure low level radioactive gases using a liquid scintillation counter with silicone oil as an adsorbent. With this method it is possible to measure the integrated concentration and detect separately different β-emitters in air with a much higher sensitivity than by usual methods. The results of the measurement and analysis of tritium and 14C compounds in air with contamination levels of 10-7 mCi/ml are reported. (UK)
