Public concerns surrounding alternative nuclear power systems

Description

During the Carter Administration, the U.S. Department of Energy Non-Proliferation Alternative System Assessment Program (NASAP) reviewed a wide range of alternative nuclear power systems in the hope of improving resistance to proliferation. For the analysis of public acceptability, NASAP turned to the George Washington University Program of Policy Studies in Science and Technology. The GWU work covered three major areas: identification of public concerns, assessment of the concerns' significance, and evaluation of alternative nuclear power systems
