Description
The research to compare the sensitivity of TLD-100H (LiF:Mg,Cu,P) with OSLD nanoDot (Al2O3:C) to be used in medical applications on low dose monitoring has been carried out. Before use, the dosimeter must be annealed using heat for TLD-100H and intensity light for OSLD nanoDot . The reading process of dosimeter responses uses heat stimulation for TLD and optical stimulation for OSLD. The purpose of this study was to obtain the dosimeters with high sensitivity for monitoring of low doses received by patients, so that the data will becomes more accurate. The calibrated TLD-100H used has a response with deviation <3%. Dosimeters has exposed on phantom surface with energy and doses variations using X-ray and Cs-137 at Secondary Standard Dosimetry Laboratory of PTKMR BATAN. The results of study showing that the response of OSLD nanoDot exposed to gamma ray and X-rays with doses greater than 2 mSv lower from response of TLD-100H. Conversely, for doses smaller than 2 mSv the OSLD response is higher than TLD-100H. To measure the low-dose of patients in medical physics, OSLD nanoDot are a better choice than TLD-100H. Another advantage, OSLD nanoDot can be readed directly after receiving radiation exposure and can be repeatedly without significantly affecting dose value. (author)
