A congressional hearing was held May 28, 1980 by the Environment, Energy and Natural Resources Subcommittee of the Committee on Government Operations to discuss the Nuclear Regulatory Commission Inspection Program and the Oyster Creek Nuclear Power Plant. This discussion included an explanation of the responsibilities now facing the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, particularly the insurance that the 68 operating nuclear power reactors are operated safely and completely by licensees with sound management practices.
