More energy, more safety

Description

Development work on nuclear fuel aims to guarantee good safety margins while generating more energy from the same amount of fuel. In Finland VTT Energy has taken part in in-core fuel management work for Teollisuuden Voima Oy's (TVO, Industrial Power Company) reactors from the very beginning of their operation. VTT Energy has a comprehensive computer system to analyze the reactor physics and thermal parameters of both boiling water reactors and pressurized water reactors of the VVER type. Some of the programs are the result of VTT Energy's own development work
