First evidence of Xc production in B meson decays

Description

Using the ARGUS detector at the ε+ε- storage ring DORIS II at DESY, we have obtained the first evidence for B meson decays into χc mesons. The inclusive branching ratio for the decay B→χc1X was measured to be (1.05±0.35±0.25)% assuming no χc2 production. In addition, four candidates for the exclusive decay B±→χc1K± have been observed, corresponding to a branching ratio of (0.19±0.13±0.06)%. (orig.)
