Evaluation of a novel tripodal diglycolamide ligand for carrier free 90Y separation by solvent extraction and extraction chromatography

Description
A novel tripodal diglycolamide (T-DGA) extractant was evaluated for the separation of carrier free 90Y using solvent extraction as well as extraction chromatography. Batch studies indicated that both methods showed very high Y(III) extraction, while practically no Sr(II) extraction was observed. The purity of the recovered 90Y by the solvent extraction method was ascertained by the half-life method. (author)
