Thermal expansion of (Th1-xGdx)O2-y(x = 0, 0.15, 0.3, 0.86 and 1) was studied using high temperature X-ray diffraction (HTXRD) technique. Synthesis of the solid solutions was carried out by gel combustion method using citric acid as fuel
