Suppression of flute oscillations in axisymmetric open confinement system with sloshing ions

Description
Stability of flute oscillations in a paraxial axial-symmetric magnetic mirror with sloshing ions which are formed during injection into a plasma of high-energy neutral atoms or incompletely ionied ions with z>1 is analysed. A method for choosing the magnetic field configuration providing minimization required for power and injection energy stabilization is pointed out. Injection parameters corresponding to the optimal choice of the magnetic field configuration are found. Methods for further injection energy and power decreasing due to the additional magnetic mirror connection and sloshing ion pumping-out are presented. The results of the proper calculations are given
