Description

On the muon beam of the JINR synchrocyclotron the yield and time distribution of neutrons from fusion reaction in dtμ mesomolecule were measured in the experiments with a gaseous target filled at different pressures with purified deuterium and tritium. The experiments were set up at several tritium concentrations in the range of mixture temperatures from 93 to 613 K. On the basis of the obtained data the low limit of the dtμ molecule formation rate Λsub(dtμ)>10sup(8) l/sec and the rate of muon transfer from deuterium to tritium Λsub(dt)=(2.7+-0.9)x10sup(8) l/sec were defined. The defined low limit of dtμ-molecule formation rate confirms the existence, over tμ atomic energy, of a theoretically predicted resonance mechanism in the formation of this molecule. The value of transfer rate Λsub(dt) is likewise in good agreement with the theoretical value
