Fast-rotating particles
Description
The dynamical variables of a particle, such as its moment of inertia and rotational frequency, are expressed in terms of the angular momentum of the body, and several formulae are obtained relating these variables to the energy in the laboratory frame and the energy in the intrinsic rotating frame (Routhian). Comparison with the Harris expansion, familiar from nuclear physics, is made. Maximum, unattainable, characteristic angular velocity is shown to exist for every finite-mass particle
