X-ray crystal structure of di-μ-carbonyldicarbonyl-bi(η5-pentamethylcyclopentadienyl)diruthenium

Description
A single-crystal X-ray diffraction study of [(Cr5Me5)Ru(CO))μ-CO)]2 proved its dimeric structure and centrosymmetric trans-conformation. The Ru-Ru bond length of 2.758 (1) A and the ruthenium - η5-rign-plane sepration of 1.923 A are increased in comparison with the unsubstituted Cp-analogue. This effect, similar to that observed for iron Cp and C5Me5 complexes, is due to σ-inductive effect of methyl groups
