Potentiometric study of UO2(VI) salicylaldehyde system
Description
The interactions of uranyl ion with salicylaldehyde in 75% (v/v) dioxane-water mixture at 30deg and 0.1M (NaClO4) ionic strength have been investigated by Calvin-Bjerrum pH titration technique as modified by Irving and Rossotti. The effect of ionic strength on proton (pK) and metal ligand stability constant (log K) is observed by examining the system at μ = 0.029M, 0.049M, 0.069M, 0.089M and 0.109M. The influence of the solvent is studied by evaluating pK and log K values in 10%, 25%, 40%, 60% and 75% (v/v) dioxane-water mixtures. (author)
