Determination of trace amounts of chlorine and fluorine in nuclear fuel materials using ion-chromatography (IC)

  • 1. Fuel Chemistry Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai (India)

Description

An ion chromatographic (IC) method with suppressed conductivity detection for the determination of traces of chlorine and fluorine in nuclear fuels is described. A linear calibration of chlorine and fluorine over a concentration range of 0.005 to 20 mg/L was obtained. The coefficients of variation obtained are 2% and 5% respectively for chlorine and fluorine at 10 ppb level. (author)
