Evidence for precipitation of energetic particles by ionospheric 'heating' transmissions
Creators

Description
On the infrequent occasions when the Platteville, Colorado, 10-MW transmitter radio frequency matched the F region peak plasma frequency, intense sporadic E layers occurred at low altitudes (<95 km). After exclusion of various alternatives it is concluded that energetic particle precipitation from the plasmasphere may occur under these circumstances
