FENABIUM - Structure-activity relationships between f-elements and organic ligand systems with natural product-based binding functions in view of possible mobilization in the environment. Final technical report
Description
A series of N-donor and mixed N,O-donor ligands were reacted with actinides primarily of the oxidation state 4 from Th to Pu, the resulting isostructural complexes were comprehensively characterized in the solid state and in solution, and their electronic properties were recorded both empirically and using state-of-the-art quantum chemistry methods examined. From this, deeper insights into the electronic properties of the actinides were gained and binding properties in these complexes were compared. The empirically described absorption and desorption behavior of analogues of the actinides was examined using radiotracer methods (including self-produced isotopes) both in the presence of desorption agents and in interaction with potential host rock matrices, the discharge path was visualized using PET and the result was modeled. All work objectives of the project have been successfully achieved. The large number of peer-reviewed publications, lectures and conference contributions at international conferences demonstrate the success of the project. The implementation of the project's scientific experiments by young young scientists, their work directly in cooperation with international partners and their successful networking at conferences and workshops represent important contributions to maintaining competence in the field of basic actinide chemistry and will continue to be a key building block for their careers in the future. This means that a central funding goal has been achieved.
Abstract (German)
Additional details
