Cooperative gap coupling in high-Tc superconductivity

Description
A unified approach to superconductivity is presented using natural extensions of weak coupling BCS theory. Multiphonon-multiband interactions cause a multigap opening at Tc, with cooperative pairing in all bands incorporated via interband interactions. Strong increases in Tc are found due to interband-induced gap coupling. Model calculations for the experimentally observed gap distribution are presented. (orig.)
