HTMP Programme Job Sheets (Provisional)
Description
The work of HTMP is currently sponsored by KFA Juelich, Germany and cilso through contracts operated by organisations in the USA for the United States Energy Research and Development Administration. More recently other partners, Switzerland (EIR Wuerenlingen), Austria (OSGAE Vienna) have joined-in the sponsorship. The general objective of the Programme is to respond to the requirements of the sponsoring organisations in relation to the commercial development of the High Temperature Reactor System. Thus, the work is concerned with aspects of selection and performance of materials behaviour in simulated HTR environments, consisting of very pure helium with a variety of impurities at ppm levels which may have a significant effect on long term properties. The detailed activities are planned in such a way as to concentrate where possible on areas of common interest amongst the sponsors and should be seen as being complementary to the much larger National Programmes. A particular issue of importance to all, for example, is the study of the effects of gas composition variations.
